Rules must be followed at all times

  • You should ALWAYS point the gun down range.

  • You should only have one shell in your gun at a time.

  • Do not put your finger inside the trigger guard until you are ready to shoot.

  • If gun misfires do not open gun, call for an instructor.

  • You cannot use release triggers.

  • NO ONE IS TO CHANGE GUNS, CHOKES OR AMMUNITION WITHOUT COACHES APPROVAL .

  • If you trade guns make sure you know how to operate the gun you are going to be shooting.

  • Watch for snow and mud in your barrel.

  • You need a shell catcher.

  • You must pick up your empties.

  • We are all guests of Koch Trap & Skeet Range — treat the club with respect.

Expectations for Varsity:

Attendance at Sunday practices:

  • Shooters check in with coach before practice.

    • Sometimes there will be a 9:30 am meeting in the clubhouse for classroom work.

  • Shooters check out with coach after practice

    • 11:15 meeting at trap 11 to review practice and possible homework.

Attendance at Meets:

  • Meeting before a meet, and check in. If late for meeting, it counts as unexcused absence for that meet.

  • At the meet, varsity should stay until all team member handicaps are finished. At that time, there we will be a meeting and then excuse those not in line for a shoot off. Any varsity member that leaves a meet early, that will count as an unexcused absence for that meet. ACT and spring break not excused absence

Unexcused absences

  • After 1 unexcused absence, late show up or leave early, Scott M will give them a written warning

  • After 2, Scott M will meet with the shooter

  • After 3, Scott M. will meet with both parent and student to determine if the team member stays on the varsity squad. No refunds if moved off the varsity squad, quit the team or can’t go to State.

  • Examples of excused absence are such things as work, retreats, illness etc. Multiple excused absence, while won’t affect varsity status, it will affect squadding. ACT is not an excused absence.

  • Varsity can letter if win a medal at a meet

  • Right to shoot in extra shoots in season, Blair shoot/State warmup, etc

  • Right to shoot in off season shoots, summer and fall league, Arbor Bank shoot, etc

  • Right to attend guest coaches

  • Access to extra coaching
